BOIS RIG MOD IV

The BOIS RIG MOD IV (Mod-Four) is the next generation split rig offering from Shepherd Associated: a hybrid, hardsewn split rig that can act both as a belt kit and as a traditional split chest rig. Designed with caliber-swapping capabilities in mind, the large wing GP pouches have insert fields that can accept hook-hook inserts of up to 6" in length, 1" in width, and 5" in height. Quickly add ammunition capability to this rig with our Elastic Inserts (Dual 556, Combo 556, Combo .308)

Each wing GP Pouch is capable of carrying two standard 32oz Nalgenes with room to spare:
Simple math? 4+ Liters of storage capability in just the wing pouches. Sized 6" wide, 9" tall, 3" thick (same as our A42 Large).

With the integrated bartacked webbing field, users can add their own suite of pouches to augment the Mod-Four. Our design choice to integrate traditional webbing as opposed to laser cut laminate keeps cost down and trust in the mounting solution high. Users have 3 MOLLE columns on each panel to mount pouches such as our A42 Small, or other pouches to plus-up ammunition carrying or task-dedicated pouches.

Front and center is a 4" (100mm) Duraflex Tactik SPLIT BAR Buckle: A quick *pop* and you're out of the rig. No need to mess with aligning sliding tubes or multiple buckles; the Tactik buckle is a fast durable buckle.

On the rear of the split panels are the four "arms" of the laminate panel. Use these arms to size the "split" of the rig to your liking; a set and forget design that still allows for sizing accomodations for layering and philosophy of use. With body-facing loop, no "scratching" from hook velcro to annoy you or degrade your apparel choices. Rig width can adjust from appx 24" to 28".

With integrating into your existing ecosystem at the core of our design philosophy, the Mod-Four rig uses industry standard 1" Nexus Buckles. Tie into your existing H or X harness without issue; so long as they use industry standard 1" buckles. We highly recommend the use of our Padded Yoke Harness to reduce the perceived weight of your kit by up to 60%. Please note that this is PERCEIVED WEIGHT REDUCTION based on design. The Padded Yoke Harness is sold separately.
