The BOIS RIG Mk3: Putting the Mk in Macro Rig
The BOIS Mk3 is designed for heavy assorted payloads. As a hard-sewn, turn-key 2nd-line system, the BOIS Mk3 ships with a padded yoke for a 60% decrease in perceived payload weight. 2026 Design Updates bring modernized cuts and materials, with minimal change to the Mk3's footprint.
With four different GP compartments and a row of loop-lined insert fields, the BOIS Mk3 is designed to support a variety of calibers. 24” of loop-lined insert fields allow a maximum payload of eight 5.56 mags, or five 7.62 mags.
Design Objectives:
- Front and Center module boasts two different-sized GP pouches; a smaller 4" x 5" x 2.5" compartment and a larger 8" x 5" x 2.5". Beneath the larger pouch are two #00 (¼” ID) grommets, designed to route shock cord retention for CAT7 TQs. A 12” loop-lined insert field can carry up to four 5.56 mags, or three 7.62 mags (AR-10 or AICS). Behind the center module is a Velcro MAP compartment, designed for use with the Shepherd TAC for EUD mounting.
- Dual-Wing GP Pouches measure 9" x 6" x 3", a combined 324 cu in or 5.22L of volume. Sewn-in elastic cords can compress these pouches when not in use, or to reduce sloshing. Behind each of the wing GP pouches are 6” loop-lined insert fields, each capable of carrying two 5.56 mags or 7.62 combo mag inserts.
- Padded Yoke is designed to reduce the perceived payload weight by up to 60%, reducing fatigue and soreness over time compared to traditional H-Harness systems. The BOIS MK3 is compatible with aftermarket 1” NEXUS ITW systems, in case a Yoke isn’t your cup of tea.
- YKK Zippers and self-locking cord ensure a fast, reliable, and durable zipper system.
